Whether you are trying to cope with sadness, worries, fear, anger, lifestyle issues, depression, and anxiety, past or present trauma- either as the survivor or the accused- Courageous Choice Counseling is here for you.
I am 100% dedicated to your emotional well-being and finding the right solutions for your unique situation. You can lean on me throughout your journey for understanding, support, and resources. My promise to you is that I will provide the best possible care with compassion, professionalism, and dedication to your individual needs.
To fit your schedule and preferences, I offer both telehealth and in-home counseling services.
I have experience in working with adolescents and adults who are dealing with a wide variety of trials, tribulations, and mental health issues. Please note that if you'd like me to treat your child, I require the consent of both parents regardless of who has primary custody. My areas of experience include:
*Telehealth only
My name is Kristi Pace and I am on your side. With a master’s degree in Applied Clinical and Counseling Psychology and a NJ license to practice therapy, I have over 15 years' experience helping individuals and families overcome a variety of life’s challenges and obstacles.
I am passionately dedicated to helping others. I take a down-to-earth approach to working with clients, complimented by therapeutic techniques that include client-centered and strength-based treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, and empowering YOU to make the choice to change your life.
My methods are deeply rooted in empathy, aided by a caring heart and an analytical mind, as well as an ability to build strong relationships and enlist clients' cooperation in facing life’s journeys. I use plain and even colorful language to create an atmosphere of safety, trust, honesty, openness, understanding, and growth.
More than 7 of my years in practice have been dedicated to in-home therapy services. I have seen first-hand how much more at ease my clients are when completing sessions at home. I add to that comfort by bringing open-minded kindness, honesty, and respect to all households, including those that are culturally and religiously diverse. I even promise your pets will like me!
If you prefer telehealth appointments, I have been practicing in this environment since the pandemic began. This new way of interacting has provided much-needed help to people dealing with many new and unexpected life challenges.
I currently accept Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Oxford, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, and Cigna. Contact your insurance provider to learn about reimbursement for out-of-network services. Upon request, I will provide you with a statement of service for you to submit. You will be provided an invoice/receipt upon each completed and paid session. I utilize Headway for all insurance billing. Please visit my profile at https://headway.co/providers/kristi-pace?utm_source=pem&utm_medium=direct_link&utm_campaign=79518 to see if your insurance is accepted. You may need to create a profile.
You have the right to expect your treatment to be held in the highest confidence. That means that I cannot tell anyone about your treatment unless you give me permission to do so. Much like a priest cannot reveal what is said during a confession, or an attorney with attorney/client privilege, I cannot reveal what you tell me during treatment. You will be required to sign a Release of Information form if you would like me to discuss your treatment with others. I utilize HIPAA-compliant software for telehealth sessions to protect your personal health information.
However, it is important to note, there are three exceptions to the Confidentiality rule.
1. You are in imminent danger of hurting yourself.
2. You are in imminent danger of hurting someone else.
3. You report or I observe, on screen or in your home, anything related to child abuse.
Any further questions pertaining to confidentiality can be answered during treatment.
